Settling into our saddles, we hit the road to spend Memorial Day weekend on a 3-day, 200 mile trip from Cumberland, MD home to Alexandria, VA. The effort proved to be worthwhile as we had the opportunity to break-in new gear and get our bodies worked up for the upcoming ride. The bikes held up well as we familiarized ourselves with again. Three days riding parallel in the saddle also provided us plenty of time to discuss final trip decisions concerning overall route and blog composition. Among the final decisions framed is our choice to collaborate with The Center for Biological Diversity to raise money toward the Gulf Spill Oil response. Bicycle-Pacific-NW is already proving to be an extraordinary experience and we look forward to the ride ahead.
