A message from the finish line; dear blog followers, I am sitting in Marin County looking across the San Francisco Bay. I can see Angel Island, the thriving downtown and the Golden Gate Bridge (pictured here). It is 2 miles long and will take 10 minutes to cross. I've traveled 62 days, over 2400 miles and this adventure will be over in minutes. Stay posted as there will be more writing and images to follow when I return home and wrap up documentation.

George, your adventures are an inspiration. Thanks for documenting them so well on this blog. Bike + website + camera + photoshop + keen insights + the writer's touch + open road ahead and behind = magic. Thanks for sharing the journey.

Since you're into web site design and blogging, take a look at this innovative site

A cyclist has instrumented her bike to send continual updates of her speed, location, hill slope, temperature, etc. via SMS text (I think) to a web server that displays the metrics on her web site. Kinda fun to watch.

  3. Congratulations! What an epic journey. We have had a number of travelers exploring the specific northwest via bike. Some come through with expert gear, some come through with kitty litter panniers, all are impressive! (and all seem to want more)

Good luck on your next journey!
